A little bit about me

A little bit about me

My earliest artistic memories are those of my father. He would draw battleships for me in strong tonal pencil drawings. I loved how one minute I would be looking at a sheet of blank paper, and the next, a graphic battleship sailing through the high seas!

Through school and my teenage years, I would spend my time drawing characters from comic books and video games. No particular direction, just drawing whatever took my interest in the moment. I also dabbled with animation and model making.

I now find myself with more direction, vision, and a solidified interest in art. The drafstmanship, ideas, and techniques of numerous artists continually inspire me. Particularly Canaletto, Francesco Guardi, Veronese, Will McPhail, and James Gurney.

At present, I favour 'pen & ink', and graphite pencil drawings. Moving forward however, I will be developing my oil, gouache, and watercolour painting skills.

You can keep up to date with my latest developments by following me via the Mailing List on this website, or my social media accounts.
